Anadolu Agency started its energy journalism training program on Monday in collaboration with the Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) for participants from Algeria, Palestine, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Tunisia, Jordan and Yemen.
The two-week program for 20 participants from eight countries will train journalists on energy policies, law, security, global natural gas and oil markets, as well as reporting techniques.
Representatives from Turkey's Energy Ministry, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), Turkiye Petrolleri (TP), an academic from Turkey's Middle East Technical University (METU), an expert from the TurkStream pipeline company, and Anadolu Agency’s Energy news editors will deliver training in line with the agency's vision of educating and supporting qualified field correspondents.
The Energy Journalism Training participants will receive 77 hours of applied and theoretical lessons via simultaneous translation from Turkish to Arabic up to March 29.
The program will also include visits to TIKA, the Energy Ministry, Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS).
Participants will be awarded certificates at the end of the program.
