The three major indexes on Wall Street closed higher on Wednesday after the U.S. Federal Reserve kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged.
The Dow Jones added 72 points to end the day at 26,149 points, while the S&P 500 rose 1 points to close at 2,823 points.
The Nasdaq increased 9 points to finish the last trading day of the month at 7,411 points.
In January, the Dow Jones climbed 5.8 percent, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq gained 5.6 percent and 7.4 percent, respectively.
Aircraft manufacturer Boeing saw its shares jump 4.9 percent with strong earnings in final quarter of last year.
The Fed announced earlier keeping interest rates unchanged at the conclusion of its two-day January meeting, which was the Fed head Janet Yellen's last meeting as the chair of the central bank.
The Fed's new head will be Jerome Powell and the bank's next meeting will be held on March 20-21 in Washington, D.C.
