$1.1 billion in revenue will be gained from the tender of nine out of 25 of Turkey's hydroelectricity power plants conducted in the last 2.5 months, data from the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry showed Monday.
Turkey published a list of 26 hydroelectricity power plants (HPPs) assigned for privatization in its Official Gazette of 24 June, 2015. However, the Kepez 2 HPP was removed from the list after publication. The plants reached a total capacity of up to 1,379 megawatts and belong to Turkey's Electricity Generation Company (EUAS).
In the last two and a half months, the tender for Fethiye, Manavgat, Karacaoren 1, Karacaoren 2, Kadincik 1, Kadincik 2, Dogankent, Kurtun and Torul HPPs were realized. These nine HPPs have 527.6 megawatts of capacity with offers of $1.1 billion placed for their privatization.
Turkey's Eti Aluminyum AS won the tender for Fethiye with their $44 million offer, Kibar Holding AS won with $127 million for Manavgat, Gama Energy AS won the tender with $177 million for Karacaoren 1 and Karacaoren 2 HPPs.
Additionally, IC Ictas AS won the tender with $297 million for Kadincik 1 and Kadincik 2 power plants while Turkey's Kolin AS secure the tender with the highest bid of $421 million for Dogankent, Kurtun and Torul HPPs.
These plants are currently waiting for final approval of the offers before proceeding with the privatization process.
The remaining 852 megawatts capacity will be privatized by 2020 when the total revenue from the privatization of the HPPs is expected to reach $3 billion.
The final list of the HPPs are as follows; Karacaoren 1, Karacaoren 2, Manavgat, Manavgat, Fethiye, Kadincik 1, Kadincik 2, Dogankent, Kurtun, Torul, Sanliurfa, Derbent, Yenice, Kesikkopru, Menzelet, Kilavuzlu, Camlica 1, Camligoze, Adiguzel, Kemer, Almus, Kokluce, Tortum, Seyhan 1, Seyhan 2 and Yuregir.
Sanliurfa, Tortum, Adiguzel and Kemer HPPs will be open to offers in the first quarter of 2016.
