The Kyrgyzstan Parliamentary Speaker Cinibay Tursunbekov invited Turkish investors to construct hydroelectric power plants in his country on Tuesday.
According to the Kyrgyz parliament's press release, when Tursunbekov met with Turkish Ambassador to Bishkek, Metin Kilic, he underlined Turkey’s experience in the construction of energy and hydroelectric power plants, and said they want to attract investment from Turkey for small and medium sized hydroelectric power plants.
The primary subject in bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey is economic cooperation.
Turkey made $105 million in direct investments in 2015, Tursunbekov said.
Kilic underlined that Turkey also attaches importance to the development of the mining sector as well as commercial and economic cooperation in Kyrgyzstan. He added that Turkey is ready to contribute to economic, educational, health and cultural cooperation.
