International benchmark Brent crude traded at $68.44 at 0623 GMT on Monday, while American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) saw prices of $60.49.
Brent crude traded at $68.26 per barrel at 1237 GMT on Friday, and WTI registered as $60.36 at the same time.
The number of oil rigs in the U.S. dropped to 816 for the week ending March 29, down by eight over the previous week, according to data released by oilfield services company Baker Hughes on Friday.
This is the first time the rig count declined over six consecutive weeks since May 2016, pushing prices higher.
