The residents of the Balkan countries have benefited from the worldwide lower oil prices, as they have managed to significantly save when buying fuel for cars, vehicle owners save on average 15 Euro a tank.
Bosnia-Herzegovina is the country which observed the biggest price cut with the prices falling to 1.02 Euro for 95 octane petroleum and 0.98 for diesel per liter.
Experts said that the fall of the oil price will have positive effects on life standards and consumptions of citizens.
Vahida Crnalic, specialist in the Trade Ministry of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that gasoline prices fell 0.20 Euro in proportion to previous month and that is very beneficial for the budget of citizen because the share people reserved from their fuel budget decreased.
'We can't foresee the future of energy prices but we estimate that the fall of oil prices will continue for a longer time,' Crnalic said.
Gasoline prices fell also in Serbia although not as much as in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to Petroleum Industry of Serbia (Naftna Industrija Srbije - NIS) gasoline prices in Serbia fell to 1.09 Euro for 95 octane petrol and 1.18 Euro for diesel, indicating a monthly decrease of 0.13 Euro for gasoline and 0.08 Euro for diesel per liter.
Gasoline prices decreased at the lowest level in the last decade in Montenegro with 0.07 Euro for 95 octane petrol and 0.06 Euro for diesel and prices hit to 1.15 Euro for 95 octane petrol and 1.08 Euro for diesel per liter.
Montenegrin experts said that they do not expect a price slump by the new year but another fall in the gasoline price is possible in late January.
The only EU member country of the region is Croatia and country faced the lowest gasoline prices of last 4 years and 95 octane petrol sold at 1.16 Euro and diesel sold at 1.1 Euro per liter. Therefore, vehicle holders' profit reached 10 Euro per tank.
Albania, a Balkan state, saw fall in prices as well. One liter of gasoline sold at 1.19 Euro and diesel sold at 1.23 Euro after avarage decrease at a level of 0.03 Euro across the country.
One liter of gasoline was sold at 1.06 Euro and diesel sold at 0.91 Euro after price cut in the Balkan state of Macedonia.
Falling oil prices across the world are bringing down gas prices for oil-dependent countries and their consumers.
The global benchmark Brent crude oil prices has fallen almost 50 percent since June, from $116 to $58 per barrel mark in mid-December - its lowest point in the last five and a half years.
