The Nordex Group will supply and install 13 turbines for two Vattenfall projects totaling 49 megawatts (MW) in the Netherlands, the German company announced Thursday.
The orders received in the last quarter of 2018 are for the 22 MW Haringvliet and the 27 MW Moerdijk projects, according to Nordex' statement.
The company will supply six N117/3675 turbines for the Haringvliet farm located in the province of Zuid-Holland on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee, near the town of Middelharnis, and seven N131/3900 turbines for Moerdijk which will be installed in the port and industrial area of the Moerdijk town in the North Brabant province.
The turbines for Haringvliet are due to be delivered in December 2019, and grid connection is scheduled for spring 2020. Once in operation, Haringvliet will supply around 22,000 households with clean electricity.
Completion of the Moerdijk farm, on the other hand, is scheduled for summer 2020, after which the wind farm will supply some 27,000 households with clean energy.
The orders also include a two-year premium service contract for both wind farms, with the option of a subsequent extension of 23 years.
Chief Sales Officer of Nordex Group Patxi Landa described Sweden-based Vattenfall as a strong and important partner for the company’s activities in Europe and especially in the Netherlands.
'This order means that in the coming years we will be installing almost 350 MW in Holland for Vattenfall alone,' he said.
According to the statement, the Nordex Group has installed more than 23 gigawatts of wind energy capacity in over 25 markets and generated revenues of €3.1 billion in 2017.
