Russia’s Gazprom and Georgia’s Gazco + company inked a deal to supply natural gas from Russia to Georgia, Russian news agency Tass reported on Thursday.
The gas supply contract was signed by Alexey Miller, CEO of Gazprom and Georgy Mamaladze, commercial director of Gazco +, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
According to the deal, Gazprom will supply 100 million cubic meters of gas to Russia in 2016. The contract will be valid from July 1 to Dec. 31 with the option of an extension.
Gazprom supplied 300 million cubic meters of natural gas to Georgia via the Georgian Geotransgas company in 2015.
Georgia also imports 1.3 billion cubic meters of gas per annum from Azerbaijan.
