Turkey's total oil product imports including crude oil, diesel and aviation fuel rose 8.4 percent in July on an annual basis, according to the latest data revealed by the country's energy watchdog.
Crude oil imports increased by 5.8 percent to 2.3 million tons last month compared to July 2017, Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority said.
Aviation fuel imports increased by 172.8 percent over the same period, hitting 56,000 tons, while diesel imports grew by 14.4 percent to 1.3 million tons.
All this along with fuel oil and marine fuel imports brought Turkey's total oil product imports volume up to 3.9 million tons in July.
The output of oil refinery products, on the other hand, increased by 5.2 percent to 2.6 million tons over the same period whereas diesel production decreased by 4.8 percent to 0.9 million tonnes.
In July, total fuel sales rose by 0.8 percent to 2.8 million tons compared to the same month last year.
