Turkey's natural gas imports increased by 0.95 percent in December from a year earlier, according to the Turkish energy watchdog's data.
Imports increased to 6.05 billion cubic meters (bcm) from 5.99 bcm in December 2017, Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly natural gas market report.
The country imported 3.95 bcm of natural gas via pipeline, while 2.1 bcm was purchased as LNG in December this year, EMRA's data shows.
Turkey's total gas consumption increased by almost 3.09 percent to 5.65 bcm in December this year from 5.48 bcm in December 2017.
The amount of natural gas in storage increased by nearly 7.42 percent to 3.16 bcm in December 2018 from 2.94 bcm in previous year.
Gas production rose to 41.54 million cubic meters (mcm) over the same period, up from 29 mcm in December 2017.
