The Nordex Group received orders for two wind farm projects in Luxembourg and Italy, with a combined capacity of around 53 megawatts (MW), the German wind turbine manufacturer announced Wednesday.
According to Nordex' statement, the company will supply seven N131/3300 turbines for the 23-MW Wincrange wind farm in northern Luxembourg. The order, which is the group's first in Luxembourg, was placed by PW34 S.a.r.l., a project development company based in Derenbach. Nordex also concluded a Premium Service Agreement covering 20 years.
According to the press release, work on laying the cables in the Wincrange wind farm has already been completed and foundation construction is due to start in April. Turbine installation is scheduled to begin at the end of 2019, with grid connection planned for February 2020.
In addition, the Nordex Group will provide seven N149/4.0-4.5 turbines for an undisclosed project developer in Italy. A Premium Service Agreement for a period of two years is also part of the contract.
The Nordex Group has installed more than 25 gigawatts of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets so far and generated revenues of around €2.5 billion in 2018.
