Eni and GE Renewable Energy started construction works on Monday for the 48-megawatt Badamsha Wind Farm in Kazakhstan, Eni announced.
According to the statement, the project is Eni’s first large-scale investment in wind power and GE’s first wind onshore plant in Kazakhstan.
GE will supply 13 turbines for the Badamsha wind farm.
According to the statement, the first turbines are due to be delivered in June 2019 and installation is set to start over the following months. Commissioning of the wind park is expected in December 2019.
Eni supports the country’s goal to reach 50 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2050, while GE Renewable Energy aims to make affordable, reliable, renewable energy.
Eni has been present in Kazakhstan since 1992.
