A group of 20 foreign journalists, who took part in Anadolu Agency's energy journalism training program, received their certificates of completion on Friday.
The two-week-long program, organized by Anadolu Agency's News Academy in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) as part of its journalist training program, had begun on March 18.
The journalists from Algeria, Palestine, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Tunisia, Jordan and Yemen were trained by representatives from Turkey's Energy Ministry, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, Turkish Petroleum, an academic from Turkey's Middle East Technical University, an expert from the TurkStream pipeline company, and Anadolu Agency's Energy Desk editors.
The journalists were given training in several subjects including energy news reporting techniques, energy policies, energy law, energy security, global natural gas and oil markets.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, TIKA's Vice President Rahman Nurdun congratulated the reporters for successfully completing the program.
'The training programs are one of our priorities,' Nurdun said, and highlighted the crucial role of journalists in reporting developments in energy.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Bilal al-Boukayli from Lebanon, thanked TIKA and Anadolu Agency for providing the opportunity to attend such a 'comprehensive and efficient' training.
