Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) received order for the 487-megawatt (MW) SeaMade offshore wind power project in Belgium from customer Seamade NV, the company announced on Monday.
According to the announcement, the company will supply 58 units of the SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbine with 17-year service agreement.
'The project consists of the two combined sites: Seastar, a 252 MW offshore wind power plant with 30 SG 8.0-167 wind turbines and Mermaid, a 235 MW offshore wind power plant with 28 SG 8.0-167 wind turbines,' the company stated.
SeaMade NV is a partnership formed with Otary RS NV with a majority 70 percent share, Engie Electrabel NV with a 17.5 percent interest and Eneco Wind Belgium SA with a 12.5 percent share.
Offshore construction is due to commence in 2019 and completion is expected in 2020, the company said.
Both the Seastar and Mermaid sites are located at 40 km and 54 km off the Belgian coast, respectively.
Both projects are expected to supply 485,000 households in the Belgium.
