The country produced 10.54 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity in August, out of which 8.24 TWh was consumed.
In addition to hydropower, the country produced 2 percent of its electricity from wind power and 2.9 percent from thermal power.
The largest consumption arose from the extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas and power-intensive manufacturing.
The Nordic country's electricity consumption increased by 0.5 percent in August 2018, compared to the same period last year.
