Eni signed up to a pan-European open innovation platform, Startup Europe Partnership (SEP), led by international advisory firm Mind the Bridge, Eni announced on Monday.
According to the announcement, launched in 2014 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the aim of SEP is to create synergy between the best innovative start-ups in Europe by connecting them with big companies and the main international stock markets.
The first event for Eni is the Scaleup Summit in Milan, which will take place on March 11 and 12 at Borsa Italiana's headquarters in Palazzo Mezzanotte.
'This will be followed by summits at the London, Stuttgart and Madrid stock exchanges in June, October and December, respectively,' the company stated.
Through the SEP program, Eni aims to find innovative digital solutions that will help it achieve its goals of decarbonization, spread circular economic models and environmentally sustainable practices, as well as further improving safety in its plants and workplaces.
'The initiative is part of Eni's strategy to speed up its digital transformation by working with the best start-ups in Italy and other countries, and to help develop a positive network of potential leaders in technological innovation within sectors it considers strategic,' Eni said.
