Turkey on Sunday extended condolences to relatives of those who lost their lives in floods in Iran.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives and material damage caused by floods in Iran,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“We extend our condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives and wish speedy recovery to the injured,” the statement said.
“Emergency relief materials were promptly sent by the Turkish Red Crescent to the areas affected by the disaster.”
Earlier, the Turkish Red Crescent announced on social media that it has sent 320 tents, 100 personal care kits, 1,625 blankets and 60 stoves to flood-hit Iran.
Iranian officials announced Wednesday that the floods -- triggered by torrential rains -- caused financial losses of nearly $170 million in five cities.
