Turkey's Directorate of Privatization Administration approved the sale of three thermal power plants in western Manisa's Soma, Bursa's Orhaneli and Kutahya's Tuncbilek's districts on Tuesday.
According to Tuesday's official gazette of Turkey, the sale of Soma Electricity Production and Trade Corporation's Soma Thermal Power Plant B and its immovable properties were sold through an asset sale to Konya Seker Industry and Trade Corporation. The corporation won the bid with the highest offer price of $685 million 500 thousand in the tender dated Jan. 13.
The Turkish directorate also approved the block-sale of Turkey's Orhaneli and Tuncbilek Thermal Power Plants to Celikler Contracting and Constructing Corporation. Celikler won the tender with a $521 million offer on Dec. 17.
The privatization of assets are conducted through asset sales and through share sales methods in Turkey. Other privatization methods include renting, establishment of incorporeal rights on property, transfer of operational rights and revenue partnership practices.
