- Turkey's power connection with Syria restarts
This project has ensured that Turkey's electricity connection with Syria has restarted after a four-year hiatus.
Syria decided to acquire electricity from Turkey's private electricity distribution sector in July 2010, and bought 2.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity until October 2012, when Syria decided to cut the Turkish supplies.
Turkey has long established electricity connections with its immediate neighbors, excluding Syria since 2012.
