Estonia's power consumption increased by 6 percent in September compared to the same period in 2013, according to Elering, the electric transmission systems operator in Estonia.
The power consumption of Estonia was 606 gigawatt hours in September and the country's domestic power consumption rose since May 2014, however, the total consumption in the first nine months of 2014 is one percent less than that of 2013 for the same period.
Moreover in September, Estonia’s electricity production saw an annual decrease of 12 percent, amounting to a total of 874 gigawatthours. The reduction was due to the greater flow of electricity from Finland into Latvia via Estonia.
