Hydropower produced 95.8 percent of Norway's electricity in January, according to Statistics Norway (SSB) on Tuesday.
The country produced 15.86 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity in January, out of which 13.5 TWh was consumed.
In addition to hydropower, the country produced 2.3 percent of its electricity from wind power and 1.9 percent from thermal power.
The largest consumption came from extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas and power-intensive manufacturing.
The Nordic country's electricity consumption increased by 4.7 percent in January 2018, compared to the same period last year.
